There is a working connection between Matan's and the Wardandi Aboriginal Community.

The Wardandi people are the traditional owners of most of the land now known as the Margaret River Wine Region.
Through the Wardan Aboriginal Cultural Centre, the Wardandi Elders have chosen to share aspects of their culture with visitors in an effort to increase understanding and reconciliation with the wider community.

The Wardan Aboriginal Cultural Centre is along Injidup Springs Rd, off Caves Road and 6km south of Yallingup. The centre is open for visits from the public and offers bushtrail tours, demonstrations and a free interpretive area and art gallery. For more information about opening times, tours and fees, phone (08) 97566 566 or look at the website below.
